Incoming Freshman and Transfer Admission
To declare BSDS as your major when you first enter UT as a freshman or transfer student, you must indicate Behavioral and Social Data Sciences as your first choice major on your UT application form.

Incoming Freshman and Transfer Students

Additionally, you are required to apply for and attend an Orientation session before you can meet with your academic advisor. Please use the links below to find the appropriate session for you!

Current UT Students - Internal Transfer
An Internal Transfer is a student who is already admitted to the University of Texas at Austin but is declared in another major. The Internal Transfer process is inclusive of swapping from one major to another and adding a second major.
All internal transfers into the BSDS major will need to complete the Internal Transfer Application. Students who have already completed a degree will NOT be considered for internal transfer admission.
Please note - Double majors in BSDS are welcome, but you cannot double major in BSDS and Psychology.

Current UT Students - Internal Transfers
An Internal Transfer is a student who is already admitted to the University of Texas at Austin but is declared in another major.
All internal transfers into the BSDS major will need to complete the Internal Transfer Application.
Students who have already completed a degree will NOT be considered for internal transfer admission.
To be eligible for internal transfer into the BSDS major as an undergraduate student you must meet the following criteria:
- Be in good academic standing.
- Have completed one lower division class from either the Psychology or Humanities track (e.g. PSY 301).
Please note - Double majors in BSDS are welcome, but you cannot double major in BSDS and Psychology.
