Nafal Ossandón Hostens is a first-year PhD student at the department of Germanic Studies. She studied German, English and Spanish Linguistics and Literature at Ghent University (Belgium) and holds an MA in Computational Psycholinguistics from the University of Antwerp (Belgium).  She was an intern in Spring 2021 at the LT3 (Language and Translation Technology Team) research group at Ghent University where she worked on the automated evaluation of L2 Dutch written texts. Her current research interests are Second Language Acquisition and Pedagogy and their application in the development of Computer-Assisted Language Learning tools for German. Nafal also organizes the Germanic Studies department’s Tandem Total language exchange program in collaboration with the University of Bielefeld. She also really likes cats.
