Government Minor:

2010-2012, 2012-2014 & 2014-2016 catalogs

For degrees in Liberal Arts: Twelve hours of coursework in government, including at least six hours of upper-division coursework and at least six hours in residence. Minors under these catalogs do not appear on the transcript and do not require an application.  Contact your major advisor to request that a Government minor be added to your record.

For other colleges, please consult your major advisor regarding minor requirements in catalogs 2014-2016 and earlier.

Please Note:

Government minors are not given registration priority to upper-division Government courses.

If a course says it is "open;restricted" that likely signals that the remaining seats are reserved for Government majors only.

Check back during the add/drop period before or at the start of the semester as it is our practice to lift the majors only restriction as we near the start of classes.

Most upper-division Government courses require a prerequisite of 6 hours of lower-division Government posted to your record.  Some may require having completed 30 total hours or upper-division standing.
