Policy Briefs & Publications

As a policy research institute, IUPRA has been conducting research on social issues affecting Black communities in Texas since its inception in 2011. Through issues briefs, policy reports, community partner projects, and more, IUPRA diffuses cutting-edge policy research that will change the world, starting here in Texas.

Working Groups & Research Labs

As part of IUPRA's mission, we are dedicated to supporting faculty research initiatives. Each member of the IUPRA Coordinating Committee runs a research lab that promotes intersectional policy solutions, promote social justice, and combat anti-Black racism to support Black communities on both local and global scales.

Podcast

IUPRA's podcast, Black Lives Texas, was hosted by former Assistant Director of Assessment Tracie Lowe, PhD, and IUPRA's current Post-Doctoral Fellow Ricardo Lowe, PhD MS. In this podcast, we examine how a variety of social issues and policies affect Black Texans.
