Redevelopment and Displacement

The City of Austin population has increased by almost 270,000 people between 2000 and 2016 with 50% of that growth occurring between 2010 and 2016. This growth has had implications for the local housing market. Long-time residents get displaced when increased demand for housing causes prices to rise.

The map below looks at the redevelopment of mobile home parks within the City of Austin. Move the slider to view the location of existing mobile home parks in Austin and those that are at risk of redeveloping.

Circle size is representative of mobile home park acreage size.

The map depicts mobile home parks that are at least 5 acres in size. Mobile Home Parks considered "at risk" are those in the City's Future Land Use Plan designated as a use other than Mobile Home Park. These at risk designations are not exact and may change with the potential adoption of CodeNEXT. Demographic data comes from the U.S. Census Bureau 2010 Summary File 1.
