About the Plan II Newsletter
The Plan II Newsletter is emailed to all current Plan II students on Tuesdays at 12 p.m. during the Fall and Spring semesters. Parents and friends of Plan II who are interested in receiving the Plan II Newsletter should submit a request to planiinewsletter@austin.utexas.edu.
News items for the letter include announcements from the Plan II Office, as well as events, performances and exhibits by Plan II students. Read the newsletter to learn about courses, registration, advising, job opportunities and special events. Personal and political announcements will not be published in the newsletter; and internships and job announcements should be sent to the Liberal Arts Career Services office, after which they may be considered for publication in the newsletter.
Please keep in mind that although the Plan II Newsleterr enjoys a substantial and diverse readership, its circulation is still relatively small. It should not be relied upon as an employer's only means of advertising for a position, a group's only advertisement for an event, etc. Also please note that the newsletter is not sent out during the summer.
To place a news item in the Plan II Newsletter, follow the instructions below:

Type your news item in the body of an e-mail to planiinewsletter@austin.utexas.edu.
- In the email subject line, write “Plan II Newsletter submission.”
- Please keep your submission to no more than 2-3 descriptive sentences, not including headline and contact information. Submissions may be edited for length when necessary.
- Provide a link where interested readers may go for additional information whenever possible.
- If no link is provided, give the name of a contact person and e-mail address.
- Provide an activity date or a deadline, whichever is appropriate.
- Do not use “we” or “I.” Please write your submission in third person.
- News items will run until your deadline, or through two issues of the newsletter if no deadline is provided.
- PDF flyers or PowerPoint slides for TV screen displays in the Plan II Office are also welcome, but the TV screens are for official UT or Plan II-specific happenings. Submissions for events or happenings not affiliated with Plan II or the University are generally not approved.
Send your news item to planiinewsletter@austin.utexas.edu no later than Noon (CT) on Monday if you wish to be included in the Tuesday newsletter. Even better, ensure inclusion in the newsletter by sending your submission the week prior.
For Employers:
We'd be delighted to share your employment or internship opportunity with the Plan II student community. UT policy requires that all such postings are also submitted to Liberal Arts Career Services. You can fulfill that requirement online here. Liberal Arts Career Services can assist in narrowing and focusing an employers' applicant search and can even help you arrange a campus visit. Once your posting or event is setup with Liberal Arts Career Services, we will happily share it in the Plan II Newsletter to students and publicize it in our student Canvas groups.
