Our Research
PRC researchers are especially renowned for their research in five over-lapping and reinforcing primary research areas, and their scientific contributions are many and path breaking. Many PRC researchers work in more than one of these overlapping and reinforcing areas, and in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams. These areas move well beyond the bounds of traditional demography and are on the cutting edge of population research.
Our primary research areas are:
Population Health and Well-Being
Physical and mental health are the product of complex interactions among biological, social, and environmental factors.
Learn MoreReproductive, Maternal, and Infant Health
Reproductive and sexual health are integral to fertility and overall wellbeing.
Learn MoreFamily Demography and Human Development
Development is a process that unfolds across the lifespan, that is nested within family relationships, and that can be affected by transitions and environmental exposures.
Learn MoreEducation, Work, and Institutions
As individuals develop, they become interconnected with other individuals through layers of geographic contexts, social networks, and organized institutions.
Learn MorePopulation Change
Collective changes in human health and behavior can only be detected when studied at the population level.
