Gender, Family, Work, Qualitative Methods, Quantitative Methods

Paige is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on gender, work, and family using mixed methods.

Paige's dissertation research investigates the gender pay gap using the special case of female breadwinner families.  She examines how men's contributions to childcare impact women's career outcomes to enter the theoretical debate about the gender gap in pay using data from the Survey of Income and Program Participation and data collected from an original survey experiment.

Paige also works as the project manager for a National Science Foundation funded study investigating the early careers of STEM graduates. The project tracks these graduates during the first five years after graduating using repeated in-depth qualitative interviews and an online survey in the first and last year of the study.

Before coming to UT Austin, Paige received her B.S. in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and her M.A. in Sociology from the University of Texas at Arlington.
