Karen is a second year doctoral student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin. Her primary research interests are in race and ethnicity and social inequalities. She's particularly interested in contemporary racial attitudes, which she examines in her current research on public perceptions of racial protests. 

She's currently serving as a graduate fellow at the Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Social Justice.
