Patrick Sheehan is a PhD student in the department of Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin where he is a fellow in the Urban Ethnography Lab. He holds a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research focuses on work, unemployment, and aging in the new economy.
Patrick's dissertation project examines career paths in the tech industry and is funded by a University of Texas Graduate Continuing Fellowship during the 2021-2022 academic year.

His academic research has been published in Work & Occupations and is forthcoming in the American Journal of Sociology. He also regularly writes for public outlets such as Jacobin Magazine, In These Times, and Public Seminar
