Biography
Yiwen Wang is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology and a graduate research trainee in the Population Research Center (PRC) at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on social disadvantages and health disparities across the life course, with an emphasis on the health implications of family dynamics in childhood as well as intimate relationship dynamics in adulthood. Her current research projects explore how structural-level policy changes (e.g., same-sex marriage legalization) and individual-level relationship transitions shape the health of same-sex couples over time.
Yiwen currently serves as an editorial assistant for Demography under Dr. Mark Hayward. She is also a researcher with the Health and Relationships Project (HARP) and the Health Experiences After Loss: Insulating the Next Generation (HEALING) Project directed by Dr. Debra Umberson.
