- I can't make an image work with the crop tool.
All blocks now require images with specific dimensions and pixel sizes. The sizes for each image are available on the documentation page for the specific block and the image upload tool itself.
- The hero image on the homepage does not fit. What do I do?
You will need to upload a new image. The hero block image size is 1500px x 600px (5x2 dimensions). Please contact Web Support and we can help you fine and resize an appropriate image.
- I have a page with a ton of book images that need formatting and resizing. What do I do?
We have a book gallery component that standardizes image sizes. Books need to be added to the Faculty Profile > Books section. We recommend including the name of book, URL, date, and attaching a copy of the book cover.
- Where are the social media buttons?
Social media links are managed in Web Editor and will be available in the main menu navigation. If you would like to have a social media link that isn’t standard, you can add a button to your page that links to the social media platform.
- I need to modify an existing PDF linked on my page. Where do I do that?
All PDF/files that were linked on a page and lived in Cascade were moved to a new file management system. To access the file, double click on the link to open the link setting box. At the bottom of the first tab entitled “Link Info”, select “Browse Server”. A server page with all PDFs for your unit will display. You can choose or replace the files as needed

Site Structure
- I have pages in the new site that are not on the old site. What do I do?
You will likely find hidden and orphaned content from Cascade show up in Pages. We decided to import all pages in Cascade but that means there are outdated and unpublished pages. If you see a page that isn’t in the current site, it is likely a hidden page and you can choose to remove it at your discretion. Submit a support request via the project dashboard to request to remove the page.
- My page has too much content and it would look better if I divided it up into multiple pages. Can I create a new page for content that should be relocated?
Yes, you can create a new page to relocate content as it makes sense. If you want to add a ‘parent’ page, click on the main homepage and add a page from there. If you want to add a ‘child’ or ‘sub’ page, click on the desired parent page and add a page.
- Can I delete a page?
Please contact Web Support to delete a page.
- Can I rename or move a page around in the navigation?
Yes, you can move or rename a page by using the ‘suitcase’ icon in the top menu
- Can I reorder my pages?
Yes, you can reorder your pages without creating new pages. To reorder parent pages, click into a parent page, and select the Sort function from the top command bar. A sort function box will open and you can move the page where you want it. You can also sort sub-pages under its parent page.
- I accidentally made a change and want to undo it and/or noticed a mistake on a page. What do I do?
You can use CTRL + Z to undo. We will also have an undo button in the top command bar.
- Can I ‘hide’ a page in Pages?
No, you cannot hide an entire page in the new system. In the event that you need to hide certain content (i.e. special events, graduation information, etc.), we suggest either:
- Create a new page, add the desired content, ‘hide’ those components in your layers tab, and add a message that information is coming soon. When you are ready to display that information, you can unhide those components in your layer tab and republish the page to show the information.
- Create the desired content on an existing page and hide the components in your layers tab until you need them. When you are ready to display that information, you can unhide those components in your layer tabs and republish the page to show the information.
When you are finished using the special content, rehide the components and republish the page or revert back to a previous version and republish.
- Can I hide the default page titles?
It is possible to hide the default page titles. In the ‘Structure’ menu (the 3 horizontal lines) in the same panel as the Blocks and Settings, you can see every block used on the page. To hide a block, select it, in this case the ‘Title’ block, and click the eye icon to the left of the name.
- Accordion 4Panel 4. Add body text in this space.
- Accordion 5Panel 5. Add body text in this space.
Links
- Do we have anchor links?
No, anchor links are not supported in Pages. Tabs and accordions are now used to organize and show large amounts of content on a single page. You can also consider adding multiple pages.
- How do I copy the link to my new page?
Click on the web path displayed in the Pages toolbar. This will copy the link to your clipboard.
- Will you provide redirects?
Permanent redirects are not supported. However, if you have a special circumstance such as marketing material or QR codes pointing to a specific page, please submit a support request and we can set a short term redirect with a 3 month expiration date.
- How do I insert a Box upload link?
Embedding Box Upload links is not supported in Pages. You can still use Box Upload by using just the link. Here are the steps for creating a new Box Upload folder and adding it to your page.
- Create a new folder in Box. You can name it anything you’d like. Keeping the default permissions is fine.
- In the ‘More Options’ menu, select ‘File Request’. The default settings should work for our uses.
- Click the ‘Copy’ button to copy the link. You do not need the entire embed code for use in Pages.
- Paste the link into a block on your site. We suggest using either a text or button block.
- Accordion 5Panel 5. Add body text in this space.
Publishing
- The preview button doesn’t work. What do I need to do?
You need to be on the UT network to use the preview feature. If you are working remotely you will need to connect with the VPN.
- How do I publish new edits post-launch?
To push new edits live on the page, use the Publish button in the top command bar. A publishing box will appear and you can name your edits if desired. Once published, edits show up immediately.
- I noticed a mistake on my page after publishing. How do I revert back or unpublish?
You cannot unpublish a page once it has been published. However, you can make the correction and publish a new version. OR if you have older versions of your page, you can re-publish an older version.
- What is the difference between saving and publishing?
Saving will save your edits in the canvas as you are working on them. Those edits will not show on the public website until you publish them.
- Troubleshooting: Edits to my page don't appear after I publish the page
Sometimes after editing and publishing a page the changes don't appear on the public page for the user making the edits. Doing a 'hard refresh' of your browser cache for the page should solve the issue. To do a hard refresh for Chrome, hold Ctrl (Windows) or Shift (Mac) key while clicking the reload button. For Firefox, hold the Ctrl key and press the F5 key (Windows) or hold the Shift key and click the Reload button (Mac). And for Safari, hold down the Option and Cmd keys and then press the ‘E’ key.
