How to Use the Web Editor

The Web Editor is the primary tool for editing and managing web content at the College of Liberal Arts. With the Web Editor you can manage faculty and graduate student profiles, post news articles and upcoming events, manage staff, faculty, and graduate student lists, and edit and manage unit websites with Pages.

When you initially login to Web Editor with your UT EID credentials you will see a customized Dashboard based on your role at the College. 

Login Problems?

First, check that you have a profile in your department's website.  If not, contact your department web administrator. Second, check that you appear in the UT Directory, a requirement for Web Editor login. If not, use the UT Registrar's Restrict My Info tool to relax restrictions. Note that changes to your directory information may take a day to appear.

Faculty and Graduate Student View

Once you login you will be automatically directed to your Dashboard. Faculty and Graduate Students should see a section for your profile like that below. Click on the Blue Eye icon to edit your profile. Detailed instructions for updating and managing Profiles are available in the How to Manage Profiles section.

Staff View

The Staff Dashboard will list all units you have access to manage including Pages, News, Events, Staff, Faculty, Grad Students, and Office Information.

To edit the faculty and staff lists and other unit information you will need to have staff access. A staff member in your department will have the ability to add you to the unit staff list or delegate permissions for you to edit content.
