Appointments

Liberal Arts Career Services provides a variety of appointment types to currently-enrolled, degree-seeking College of Liberal Arts students at The University of Texas at Austin. These appointments can be held in person in FAC 2.106 or virtually.

Common appointment topics are (but not limited to):

• Career Exploration
• Job & Internship Search
• Resume & Cover Letter Review
• Networking
• Behavioral & Case Interviews (prep & mock interviews)
• Career Fair Success Strategies
• Graduate School Admissions Coaching (for Liberal Arts/Humanities programs only)

How to Schedule an Appointment 

1. Log-in to Handshake
2. On the left side menu, select “Career Center”
3. Select “Appointments”
4. Select "Schedule New Appointment"
5. Choose “College of Liberal Arts” or “Pre-Law Advising/Law School Admissions Coaching”
6. Choose the appointment type that most closely matches your goals for the appointment
7. You can narrow your search by staff member or appointment medium (virtual or in-person) or see next available appointments. Select an appointment and select a medium. Some appointment slots will only be offered virtually. 
8. Fill out the "What can we help you with?" field by sharing what types of roles you are looking for, what roles you are planning to apply for with your resume/cover letter, or including the job description for the role you’d like to have a mock interview for. 
9. Select “Request.” You will receive a confirmation email with your appointment details. 

Cancellation Policy

Please be considerate as you schedule appointments. Canceling at the last minute or not showing up for your appointment takes appointment slots from students eager to utilize our services.

• To reschedule or cancel your appointment within 24 hours, please contact the coach through email or Handshake, email lacs@austin.utexas.edu, or call the office at 512-471-7900.
• After 3 no shows, you will need to speak with a member of our team before making future appointments.

Drop-In Coaching

When: Wednesdays, 1:00-3:00 PM Central, August 30 - November 29*
*Not held on: September 27, November 22
Where: In-person, FAC 2.106

Drop-in appointments are 15 minutes long and are designed to cover short topics (resume or cover letter review, LinkedIn Review, Career Fair Prep, Interview Prep, etc.). Longer topics may need to be scheduled as a 30 minute appointment. 

In preparation for your appointment, we request that you have an active Handshake account and your resume or cover letter be ready to be reviewed (if applicable).
