Book Cub: Ecclesiastes

Thu, February 28, 2019 | Moore-Hill Dormitory

5:00 PM

For this meeting of the book club, we'll be discussing the Book of Ecclesiastes (Qohelet). It's one of the most puzzling books of the Bible; the narrator poses very difficult questions about divine justice, God's judgment, and whether human life has any worth at all. It's not clear whether these questions receive any adequate answers at all, causing some to wonder how this book came to be included in the Bible at all.

The reading is short, and in our reading group, we'll cover as much of the book as possible, paying special attention to the short frame narration at the beginning and end.

Find the reading here.

Please note, as a special event, we will be hosting this reading group in the Moore-Hill dormitory, rather than our usual location in Waggener 403b. Moore-Hill is just south of Gregory Gym. There is an entrance on 21st St.
