Back on My Feet (BoMF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the independence of the homeless and other underserved populations by first engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength and self-esteem. BoMF Austin is seeking an intern for the upcoming semester to work remotely and collaborate with other staff members. 

The purpose of the program internship is to provide administrative and volunteer management support to the Back on My Feet Program Department. The intern will work directly with the Program Director to ensure timely data entry services and manage volunteers for special events and morning runs. 

This unpaid internship would be for 10-15 hours a week and for class credit. The position is home based, but the intern will also be required to attend one morning run each week. Runs take place at 5:30am at one of two locations: Southwest corner of 7th and Trinity, and 4216 South Congress. 

Responsibilities: 

• Work directly with volunteers to ensure coverage at morning runs and recording data from those runs.
• Coordinate volunteers for Back on My Feet special events including social events, races, and fundraising campaigns 
• Develop relationships with Residential members through running in the mornings and attending BoMF events (i.e. races, social events, and financial literacy and professional skills classes) 
• Provide support to alumni members wishing to participate in Back on My Feet special events. 

Qualifications: 

• Must be comfortable with vulnerable populations (i.e. ex-offenders, LGBTQ individuals, medically fragile individuals, etc.) 
• A basic understanding (or desire to learn) of Austin social services community 
• Interest in running with one of our teams in the morning 
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail 
• Strong written and verbal skills 
• Ability to work independently 
• Computer savvy in Word, Excel, Internet Research, and Resume Building 
• Need to provide own laptop 

The most appropriate majors would be social work, counseling, or psychology, or any individual wishing to work in and learn about a non-profit
