  • Peace Corps - Make a difference in the lives of others and your own.  As a Peace Corps Volunteer, you will help a community in need, gain valuable cross-cultural skills, and become a citizen of the world. Positions available in Education, Health, Agriculture, Environment, Community Economic Development, & Youth Development.  Benefits include full health and dental coverage in service, graduate school programs, and federal employment advantage.  More than 7,000 Volunteers of all backgrounds and ages are serving in a variety of fields in 64 countries.  Peace Corps Volunteers must be U.S. citizens and at least 18 years of age, but there is no upper age limit. 

  • ACE:  A Community for Education - ACE is an early childhood literacy program at the Charles A. Dana Center, an organized research unit within the College of Natural Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. ACE places highly-trained AmeriCorps members in Austin’s low-income schools to deliver intensive, research-based, one-on-one tutoring to advance K-2nd grade students to grade level in reading by 3rd grade. ACE AmeriCorps tutors become an integral part of the national movement towards social justice.They are given a well-rounded opportunity to have a meaningful year of service in Title I schools, commit to civic engagement through community service projects with local non-profits, and the option to participate in professional development activities such as: blog writing, social media, curriculum writing, and outreach opportunities. Since 1994, ACE has taught over 15,000 children how to read!
