Environment America, Environment Texas Solar Campaign Internship, Application Deadline, BTT Gateway Job ID 9035

We’re working on a campaign to build a clean and renewable future powered by the sun. We could meet all of America’s energy needs by capturing just a sliver of the virtually limitless and pollution-free energy of the sun. Yet, with scarcely more than one percent of our energy coming from solar, we still have a long way to go toward our vision of capturing the energy of the sun on every available rooftop and making solar a go-to energy option. But the power and access of solar energy opponents, including fossil fuel interests and most utilities, threatens to stop solar in its tracks. That’s why, this fall, we’re ramping up our work to build support for a national 10%-solar-by-2030 goal, so in Texas we’ll push the envelope by mobilizing the public, organizing coalitions of businesses, local governments, civic groups, and builders and developers around ambitious clean energy goals.

We’re looking for students who care deeply about the environment and are ready to make a difference now.

As an intern:
You’ll learn how to analyze environmental problems, push for smart solutions, and build the public support it takes to win
You’ll work side-by-side with our organizers by helping us build a massive social media campaign to promote solar energy, organize a grassroots campaign to engage citizens on the issue and gather a coalition of solar businesses to push back against fossil fuel interests.
And you'll attend briefings and trainings to learn even more about environmental issues
