Term: the fall semester for academic year 2014-2015; 6-12 hours per week, depending on your internship requirements

Pre-Requisite: In order to be considered for this internship, you must be enrolled in WGS 379L Internship in Women's & Gender Studies - unique number 47995 // course may be cross-listed with other departments in the future

Responsibilities:

- attend biweekly collective meetings to learn more about how the store functions and to begin developing relationships with the other volunteers
- participate in a two-hour volunteer orientation / potluck for the bookstore
- participate in one committee, based on your interests (Accounting, Book Ordering, Cafe, Events, Fundraising, IT, Maintenance, PR, Swag, Volunteer & Scheduling, Zines)
- assist with the development of the MWB Oral History Project, which will be converted into a book; this may involve conducting interviews, transcribing interviews, conducting research on the publishing process, utilizing social media to promote the project/books, attending planning sessions for the oral history project, etc.

Skills / Education:

- upper-division status as an undergraduate student
- strong communication and organization skills
- prior experience working in cooperatives / collectives would be preferred, but not required
- knowledge of consensus decision-making is preferred, but not required
- interest / passion for books and supporting bookstores
- bilingual English / Spanish is preferred but not required for purposes of the oral history
