WHAT ARE THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION? 
• Researches, troubleshoots and provides advanced technical support for incidents which are escalated from first tier support to internal and/or external customers, including, software, procedures, etc. via telephone, email, and or internet/intranet 
• Collaborates with other second tier support, third tier support, and third party vendors as needed 
• Educates customers on how to avoid future related incidents; educates first tier support on technical problem resolution 
WHAT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ARE NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION? 
• Resolves incidents/issues/tickets escalated or assigned from other areas and assists peers with difficult or complex incidents 
• Provides internal consultation to project efforts to identify potential impacts on service 
• Acts on suggestions from team/function leadership to implement processes improvements 
• Submits and monitors changes to the existing knowledge based system to help influence forward progress 
• Develops/updates training materials and instructs training classes 
• Develops and maintains strategic relationships with Business partners

• Must be willing to work a fluctuating work schedule as required 
• May be required to work overtime as needed

This opening is for an entry-level INFRASTRUCTURE ANALYST. Infrastructure Analysts are responsible for the technical foundation and structural support required to deliver and operate business solutions for the Enterprise. 
Specialties may include: 
* Environment -maintains the stability of test environment in comparison to production 
*Mainframe -develop and implement infrastructure solutions to ensure stable and available computing environments 
*Middleware/Tool Support -planning, design, testing, implementation and support of application software (e.g. Middleware, Web Tech, Client Server Language, Decision Support) for all platforms 
* Network -identifies, designs, implements, tests and supports State Farm's telecommunication systems 
* Open Systems -develop and implement infrastructure solutions to ensure stable computing environments 
* Performance -ensures computer systems operate at peak performance and capacity 
* Provisioning -coordinates, implements, upgrades and supports cabling, installation and loading of network and server hardware 
*Storage Management -Architects storage solutions across the enterprise, defining strategy and standards to protect enterprise data 
*Technical Support -Researches, troubleshoots, and provides support for incidents which are escalated from first tier support 
Preferred Qualifications: 
* A computer/technology related Bachelor's degree 
*Academic success in key IT coursework 
* Overall understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure and the ability to coordinate, design, and manage IT processes and work 
* Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment 
* Strong communication skills, verbal and written 
* Willingness and ability to learn new technologies 
* Strong technical problem solving skills 
* Strong critical thinking and analysis skills 
This position will have an 18-month incumbency period for a lateral move and a 6-month incumbency period for a promotional opportunity (beginning on the effective date of the position) which must be met before the employee can post for any other State Farm position. The incumbency period does not affect the at will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.
