About the Texas Cultural Trust: 

Established in 1995, the Texas Cultural Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes the importance of the arts in educating our children and sustaining our vibrant Texas economy, through awareness, outreach, economic research, and the development of an art and digital literacy curriculum for public school students. The Texas Cultural Trust supports the programs of the Texas Commission on the Arts and other qualifying state agencies. Programs of the Texas Cultural Trust include the biennial Texas Medal of Arts Awards, the Young Masters Program, Arts and Digital Literacy Initiative, Create Texas, Adventures in the ARTS--a children's book, Texas Women for the Arts and Founders for the Arts. The Opportunity: 

The Texas Cultural Trust is looking for a Development Intern, who will report to the Development Associate. The position will focus on major donor and corporate sponsorship acquisition for the 2015 Texas Medal of Arts Awards (TMAAs), organization and planning for TMAA related events, donor research, grant research, and grant writing. Intern will also assist with the day-to-day activities of the Texas Cultural Trust. 

Duties include: 
 Provide support to Development Associate on special projects and initiatives 
 Conduct prospect research on individual, foundation, and corporate donors 
 Maintaining donor and grant information, including calendaring deadlines, logging donations, generating and sending donor acknowledgements 
 Assist with communication and outreach between Trust donors, Board of Directors, and corporate sponsors 
 Support with logistics for Texas Cultural Trust special events 

Preferred Qualifications: 
 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel 
 Strong communication skills (written and verbal) 
 Possess a high level of organizational skills and be detail oriented 
 Background in fundraising or development is a plus 
 Experience with Raiser's Edge and Salesforce is a plus 

********Days and Hours Flexible. Currently not a paid position. Parking stipend offered.
