The Texas Public Policy Foundation is seeking a fundraising professional to play a vital role in the organization’s fundraising efforts. The Director of Donor Engagement carries out donor engagement activities and events that are designed to further engage current donors and introduce TPPF to prospective donors. This includes, but is not limited to; creating an annual engagement plan to reach out to donors and prospective donors in their communities; planning our annual gala; building and fostering relationships across the state; and assisting TPPF leadership in keeping donors up to date through appreciation events and targeted correspondence.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Create, execute, and track the Foundation’s donor engagement strategy, including:
• Plan, oversee, and execute annual Visionaries’ Meeting
• Plan, oversee, and execute annual Gala
• Plan, oversee, and track donor event budgets.
• Develop and manage engagement strategies for major donors, such as Visionaries Council
• Identify and propose new engagement activities, such as regional committees, etc.
• Regularly communicate with donors to plan engagement events, including phone calls, personal notes, and personal invitations to events
• Write and/or edit invitations for outreach events and promote donor attendance
• Schedule and oversee coffees/lunches and "friend raiser events" throughout the state and represent TPPF at such events
• Encourage and accept opportunities to represent the Foundation as a leader in development
• Oversee or assist with other special projects as assigned
Assist with fundraising, including:
• Develop and execute select fundraising events around the state
• Work with team to secure event sponsorships for fundraising events, Policy Orientation and Primer events
• Cultivate and solicit donors as assigned
• Actively participate in overall fundraising planning as a key member of the development team

• Five years of experience in development and outreach for non-profit organizations, or similar experience, preferred.
• Able to accurately and effectively communicate the mission of the organization
• Excellent ambassador of the Foundation
• Exceptional organization skills
• Understanding of both academic and persuasive communication
• Desire to work in fast-paced environment
• Ability to work beyond typical work hours as necessary
• Enthusiasm to travel and meet with donors
• Ability to work directly with board members
• Ability to speak to large groups
