Tuition Reduction Benefits
Students employed as teaching assistants (TAs), assistant instructors (AIs), and those who receive CDMES fellowships are eligible for a tax-exempt Tuition Reduction Benefit related to their student academic employment. The current TRB rate for 2023-2024 is $4,464.00. For TAs the majority of the remaining tuition balance is covered by the College, for students on fellowships, your package may come with an additional waiver.
The Funding Process
The Department Chair and Center Director annually appoint the members of the funding selection committee, which is composed of faculty members representing each of the areas of study. Applicants are evaluated for admission and funding through the merits of their application, their overall academic performance, language acquisition, and genuine potential for future academic achievement.
