UT Austin is a big place, and that can be a little daunting. The beauty of Plan II is that it offers students a home-base. While you will still be part of the larger UT community (and all the opportunities that affords), Plan II will provide you with small, discussion-based courses where you can really get to know your classmates and professors. Plan II professors often host students in their homes for reading discussions or casual dinners. The Plan II office is a space to study and hang out with other students, talk to an advisor, and enjoy free cookies from the famous Plan II cookie jar. The Plan II Students' Association (P2SA) holds academic and social events for students throughout the year, and other Plan II student organizations (ranging from a pre-med group to a theatre troupe) are also available to join.
