Plan II offers several types of scholarship support for current students:

  • Continuing Student Scholarships - Continuing student scholarships (awarded after the 12th Class Day in fall and spring) help current students pay for tuition, cost-of-living, and educational expenses. Apply for a continuing student scholarship during the spring semester to receive an award for the next academic year.
  • Travel Grants - Plan II awards travel grants in November and April for academic travel expenses (including study abroad programs and conferences). Current Plan II students should apply for travel grants in October or March to help fund upcoming academic travel plans.
  • Thesis Grants - Plan II awards thesis grants in November and April to help cover expenses related to senior thesis research. Plan II seniors enrolled in a thesis course (including future-registration) can apply for thesis grants in October or March.
  • Emergency Micro Scholarships - Emergency micro scholarships can be awarded as needed for current Plan II students facing an unexpected living or academic expense or an unexpected change in finances. Talk to your Plan II Academic Advisor about how to apply.

Students who receive any of the Plan II scholarships listed above are required to write a thank you letter for the support they received, which Plan II will mail to the donors who made their award possible.

As students in the College of Liberal Arts, Plan II students should also check their eligibility to apply for other CoLA Scholarships. A Plan II student enrolled in a second college such as Business, Engineering, or Natural Sciences can check with those colleges for scholarship resources as well.

The University's Financial Aid office provides students with information about how to fund their education and how to accept awards. Plan II recommends that students have direct deposit set up through the University, if possible, in order to receive their scholarship awards in the most expeditious manner.

Students interested in applying to post-graduate scholarships such as the Truman, Rhodes, and Marshall Scholarships should visit UT's Office of Distinguished and Postgraduate Scholarships.
