Biography


Kerry Scroggie (she/her/hers) is an incoming first-year Ph.D student in the American Studies Department at the University of Texas at Austin. She received her B.A in Sociology with a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies from Oklahoma State University in 2017. In 2020, she received her M.A. in Women’s Studies with a graduate certificate in LGBTQ+ Studies from San Diego State University. Her current research explores the cultural implications of genetic science and genealogy in (re)producing white, colonial, and heteronormative discourses of family and kinship.
