Liberal Arts Career Services

Make your dream career a reality with a visit to Liberal Arts Career Services! We offer a multitude of services to UT students and alumni. We'll help you research potential employers, write a resume, practice for interviews, and find an internship. We also manage a recruiting program providing on-campus interviews and career fairs throughout the year. Lastly, we advise students considering law school and offer courses for credit in areas related to the liberal arts and employment.

The mission of the Texas Exes Career Network is to connect alumni and current students of The University of Texas at Austin for the purposes of sharing career-related information. Those searching our database will find Texas Exes who have volunteered to share their career experience and insight about occupations, industries, employers, labor market trends, and job relocation. The purpose of the Texas Exes Career Network is not to find jobs, recruit employees, sell products or services, or conduct surveys, but rather to network and share career information within the UT community.

For those thinking about an MA or PhD program after graduation, Liberal Arts Career Services graduate school resources can help you learn more about liberal arts advanced degrees, prepare for an eventual application and navigate the application process. 

Liberal Arts Career Services has put together an Undergraduate Career Readiness Plan to guide students through their time at UT Austin and to help them prepare for a future career. This is not an all-inclusive list, and it is also not necessary to do everything listed below to be successful; each student’s experience is different, and Liberal Arts Career Services is a resource to help every Liberal Arts Longhorn succeed during and after their time on the Forty Acres.

Liberal Arts Career Services

Liberal Arts Career Services is your first stop on your career preparation journey. In addition to providing one on one coaching and group workshops, Liberal Arts Career Services connects students with employers across all sectors by providing job posting boards and hosting career fairs, information sessions, and other recruiting events.

Students are encouraged to meet with a career coach to discuss their career goals or receive guidance on the following: 

• career exploration
• application materials 
• interview preparation
• job and internship searches
• graduate and law school admissions

Each experience as a liberal arts student is different, so Liberal Arts Career Services developed an Undergraduate Career Readiness Plan, a guide that includes action items for each year. This is not an all-inclusive list, and it is not necessary to do everything on the guide to be successful.
