Welcome home.

We know, UT Austin is a big place, and that can be a little daunting. The beauty of Plan II is that it offers students a home-base. While you will still be part of the larger UT community (and all the opportunities that affords), Plan II will provide you with small, discussion-based courses where you can really get to know your classmates and professors. Plan II professors often host students in their homes for reading discussions or casual dinners. The Plan II office is a space to study and hang out with other students, talk to an advisor, and enjoy free cookies from the famous Plan II cookie jar. The Plan II Students' Association (P2SA) holds academic and social events for students throughout the year, and other Plan II student organizations (ranging from a pre-med group to a theatre troupe) are also available to join.

In addition to small classes with the best teachers on campus, the program offers extremely personalized support. Two professional academic advisors hold walk-in advising hours year-round to help you navigate your academic path. During your first-year you will have the opportunity to meet with a Plan II Peer Mentor and participate in activities like summer reading groups and our annual welcome BBQ. During future years you will receive support about career exploration, faculty mentorship, and research. Every year the program holds several special events (such as student dinners and visiting speakers), all free to you.

Plan II also has its own scholarship and grant programs so that once you are a Plan II student you can apply for tuition, study abroad, and/or research funding support.

Small classes, award-winning professors, supportive community.
