Academic Excellence Award

The College of Liberal Arts Academic Excellence Award is an academic merit and financial need-based scholarship for currently enrolled Liberal Arts majors. 

Scholarship Information:

  • Amount of awards: $2,000 - $5,000
  • Based on academic merit and financial need.
  • Multiple awards are made each year.

Scholarship Restrictions:

  • For full-time undergraduate students with a declared major in the College of Liberal Arts.
  • Completion of a minimum of 15 hours in-residence required at the time of application.
  • Minimum UT-Austin GPA of 3.6 at the time of application. 
  • Evidence of achievement in leadership and service to the College and community.
  • Degree holders will not be considered for this award.

Other Requirements:

  • Submission of a two-page essay
  • One letter of recommendation from a UT faculty member.
  • A thank you letter will be required, if awarded.

IMPORTANT:

  • Application opens in LASSO on the first class day of the spring semester.
  • Scholarship pays out in the fall and spring of the next academic year.
  • Recipients must maintain full-time enrollment in both the fall and spring of the award year.
  • Award winners will be selected by the College Scholarship Committee and announced by the end of the spring semester.
