McReynolds and Kirkpatrick Memorial Awards in Pre-Medical Studies

For Liberal Arts students in the pre-medical sequence of courses.

Scholarship Information:

  • Awards based on academic merit and financial need.
  • Period: Competition is held at the beginning of the spring semester.
  • Amount of award: varies between $2000 - $2500.
  • Multiple awards are made each year.

Scholarship Restrictions:

  • For undergraduate students currently enrolled in Liberal Arts with at least one semester completed in the College.
  • Applicants must have the pre-medical advising codes (14 or 17).
  • Completion of a minimum of 12 hours of coursework in residence at time of application.
  • Minimum UT-Austin GPA of 3.25
  • Degree holders will not be considered for this award.

Other Requirements:

  • Submission of two one-page essays
  • One letter of recommendation from a UT faculty member.
  • A thank you letter will be required, if awarded.

IMPORTANT:

  • Application opens in LASSO on the first class day of the spring semester.
  • Scholarship pays out in the fall and spring of the next academic year.
  • Recipients must maintain full-time enrollment in both the fall and spring of the award year.
  • Award winners will be selected by the College Scholarship Committee and announced by the end of the spring semester.
