Faculty Mentorship
Welcome to the College of Liberal Arts Faculty Mentoring resource hub. Mentoring is a vital tool for academic communities. Strong mentoring relationships not only assist faculty with their scholarly and career goals, but it also helps to foster community within departments, the college, and across the university. This webpage provides helpful resources for faculty and administrators to build such relationships. The resources assembled and available here include information about best mentoring practices, as well as about building mentoring programs for tenure-track and professional track faculty of all ranks. The webpage also has a bibliography of scholarly research about mentoring and includes links to helpful resources. A section of the webpage provides downloadable forms from the Office of the Vice Provost that can help administrators and faculty establish guidelines for maintaining beneficial mentor/mentee relationships, creating an individual development plan, and conducting a comprehensive a self-assessment. Please explore the webpage to also find information about the COLA Dean’s Faculty Mentoring Award, the Dean’s Mentoring Fellows Program, and COLA Faculty Peer Mentoring Circles.
